International Service encompasses efforts to expand Rotary’s humanitarian reach around the world and to promote world understanding and peace. It includes everything from contributing to PolioPlus to helping Rotary Youth Exchange students adjust to their host countries.
In Dublin Central, we have developed a strong relationship with a humanitarian project in Rombo in Kenya, called “Light of Massai“. The project co-ordinator in Rombo originally lived in our community here in Dublin, we have a direct line into the management of the initiative on the ground.
Because the Rotary Club of Dublin Central is part of Rotary International, across 200 countries, there are always opportunities for our Rotarians to work – and play – with Rotarians from across the globe. This is an essential strength of the philosophy and operation of Rotary.
In the past the club has also funded an in-calf heifer through the Bothar organisation.
