Rotary Club of Dublin Central.
The Rotary Club of Dublin Central was established in 2001. It is one of six Rotary clubs in the capital and part of Rotary International’s District 1160, comprising seventy-five clubs on the island of Ireland.
The activities of the club achieve a balance between developing friendships and giving something back to the society in which we live and work. These include social events, fundraising activities and hands-on projects which may benefit our local community or those in another part of the world. By having as broad a range of professions as possible, it allows the club to draw on the vocational expertise of members to maximum effect.
The club comprises almost forty professional and business people, ranging in age from mid-twenties to early-sixties, representing both genders fairly equally. Meeting at 6.30pm every Wednesday, we mingle and chat over a glass of wine or light refreshments, followed by a meeting to discuss our charities, community and vocational events and other Rotary issues.
We are always delighted to welcome visiting Rotarians, their family members, partners and friends from other Rotary clubs throughout Dublin, Ireland or further afield. We also welcome potential future Rotarians who find themselves curious about what we do or want to find out how they might lend a hand.
The Rotary Club of Dublin Central is one of 34,000 clubs of Rotary International, which was founded in 1905 as the world’s first service club organisation and now has more than 1.2 million members in 200 countries. Rotarians are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training and promote peace under the motto ‘Service Above Self’.
